Two Week A-Step Provider Course

[download A-Step Course Curriculum via pdf file]

The A-Step is a two-step program that begins with an 80 hour didactic course (STEP 1) through an A-Step Provider. STEP 2 includes 18 months of on-the-job training provided by each sleep tech’s employer, and supplemented by an e-learning program through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s website [www.aasmnet.org/astep]. The Global Sleep Institute is an Accredited A-Step Provider. For STEP 1 we meet all 29 standards for A-Step accreditation. By providing A-Step, students will obtain formalized training, decrease new technician training time, and reinforce knowledge-base of all sleep techs.

The A-Step program contributes to the growing field of sleep technology by preparing students to the field of polysomnographic technology and will better prepare them for obtaining registry through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists [website: www.brpt.org]
